Point-In-Time Updates from ICA

Hello,

The 2026 Point-in-Time (PIT) and Housing Inventory Count (HIC) is approaching, with the count scheduled for January 26th, 2026. As a reminder, resources will continue to be released on the ICA Maine Point-in-Time site: Point in Time Institute for Community Alliances.

Current videos and resources on the site include:

  • PIT 101 video: High-level overview of the Point in Time Count (both the sheltered and unsheltered, their importance, the difference between the Point in Time Count and Housing Inventory Count). This is a  great video for those new to any aspect of the count.
  • PIT 201 video: High-level overview of the unsheltered Point in Time Count, with a brief overview of Counting Us application use.
  • Counting Us Information: links to further information regarding the Counting Us Application available on the MCOC’s Maine Homeless Planning site.

Videos on the sheltered Point-In-Time and the Housing Inventory Count (ie: reports on individuals staying in project beds and bed inventory) will be available on our website soon!

Please continue to keep an eye out for important emails and information regarding the 2026 PIT/HIC. Thank you for your attention, and we look forward to supporting you throughout this process.

Best,
The ICA HMIS Team
