The February 20th MCoC Membership Meeting has been cancelled. We will have a full report out of information and presentations in March.
The following are some updates on the extensive work happening throughout the MCoC:
1) No formal updates have been received by the MCoC from HUD related to any federal funding decisions. Contingency planning has been initiated, and information is being gathered from each of the CoC grantees to prepare for any possible funding reductions. Additionally, an advocacy letter has been drafted and will be sent out to elected officials.
2) A request has been submitted to HUD for a debrief on the 2024 NOFO.
3) A HUB presentation will be made at the March membership meeting.
4) The process for establishing a new MCoC Board of Directors has begun. We have received applications from many qualified candidates. The application deadline has been extended to March 12, 2025, to allow for a broad pool of candidates to be submitted.
5) The first Board of Directors Nominating Committee meeting is being held on February 19th to begin the review and decision-making process for Board selections. The Board Chairman will be selected first.
6) The MCoC Committees are being restructured to better align the statewide work of the MCoC. We anticipate that several committees will be further defined, and or combined with other committees over the next several months. In the interim, the work of many committees has paused to allow for this restructuring to happen.
7) HMIS and the new Maine Homeless Planning website information will be shared at the March meeting.
