The Maine Continuum of Care 2020 Point-in-Time (PIT) and Housing Inventory Count (HIC) Reports (below) were submitted to HUD via the Homeless Data Exchange (HDX) earlier today. The Point-in-Time Count is an attempt to enumerate everyone experiencing homelessness within the coverage area of a Continuum – the Maine Continuum of Care covers the entire state. The Housing Inventory Count, conducted concurrent with the PIT, tallies up all the Emergency Shelter, Safe Haven, Transitional Housing, and Permanent Housing beds and units that are dedicated to serving those who are or were homeless. This year’s MCOC PIT Count took place on January 28, 2020. The deadline for submitting these reports to HUD had been extended to June 30, 2020.
